Meet our team

Nancy Green, Founder
I may not be a mental health professional yet, but with over 2100 hours of therapy, years of education, and real-world experience, I have dedicated countless hours to studying Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) since my diagnosis at 51.
At 50, I felt my life spiral out of control—my marriage was ending, my health was deteriorating, and I just recovered from a mild stroke. In December 2022, I received a diagnosis of BPD, which clarified decades of confusion. mood swings, emotional dysregulation, and other symptoms suddenly made sense.
Most of my (RWE) real world experience has been based on my history of trauma, and my relationships with diagnosed narcissist and healing from various form of abuse. I am a DV survivor, a recovering addict, and have been working in the Peer-to-Peer support field for over a year.
I have a Diploma in Mental Health, and my continuing education is in Mental Health, and Suicide Prevention. Both are very important to me, professionally and personally. BPD is often misunderstood and stigmatized, but while there is no definitive cure, research shows that peer support groups and talk therapy are the most effective treatments for those affected by BPD.
There is such a need for more access to care, treatment, and resources, my mission is to assist others with a safe place to come to where they can find the support they need, in a caring and compassionate environment.

I am not yet a Mental Health professional, however sometimes I feel that with my years of both living through, and surviving the traumas, I have faced, combined with the many years of counseling, learning and studying, I have as much, if not more knowledge in this area than most talk therapists in this field.
Like many, I was mis-diagnosed for most of my adult life. Some of that may be because I have some trauma surrounding the mental health system, which unfortunately is due to the stigma associated with this diagnosis, even within the mental health community. I wasn't officially diagnosed until the spring of 2021, at the age of 53.
I admit, seeing the sobering statistics I was terrified in the beginning. Nothing I tried was really helping. I was in and out of hospital, until I met the most wonderful recreational therapist who showed me what it was like when you got a group engaged. My perspective completely changed. I went through intensive outpatient hospitalization and was in a group while I was there. I was in my element, I was thriving and engaging with other patients. My emotions were regulating, and I felt great. Then I went home, to no support, except a weekly therapist, when schedules permitted, and a monthly call with my psychiatrist.
This is when I realized that wasn't enough. I needed a tribe; I needed support from a village. They say, "it takes a village", and they are right. Welcome to our "tribe", and welcome to the village. We are here to support, encourage, guide and listen. We are here to support you.
